 Short Story - Question & Clarify



Neglect

Questions (wonderings)

Clarify (meanings)

The windscreen wipers worked furiously to clear the glass from the driving rain. It was no use, he still couldn’t see, so he pulled into a side street and waited for the pelting sheet to ease.


Flicking through the radio, a wavering squeal emerged, quickly changing into a fast beated pop song.  Jonesie, as he was called on the rank, shuffled lower into his seat and settled down to waited. Looking up to change the crackling station, he noticed a brown-coated figure huddling in the meagre shelter of a deserted warehouse. Jonesie studied the figure and decided, being a kind-hearted man, that he would try and do something to help. 


As Jonesie neared, the brown-coated figure started to shift uneasily, looking up with fearful brown eyes. 

“You look pretty cold out here, would you like to come and sit in my taxi till the rain eases off a bit?”, Jonesie asked sincerely.

After waiting a bit and receiving no reply, Jonesie headed back for the warmth of the taxi. When he neared the car, he noticed someone behind him and turning around saw that the brown-coated figure had followed him to the car. 


“So you decided to come then, eh mate?”, Jonesie queried heavily, as he helped the figure into the passenger seat.  Closing the door, Jonesie thought about what might happen to this poor guy.


In the car, Jonesie changed the station yet again finding a country song he thoroughly enjoyed. After the song had finished, he flicked the radio off and turned to his bedraggled guest, noticing that his bones almost protruded through the coat. 


“So, aye, where do you come from then mate?”, inquired Jonesie. “That’s if you don’t mind me asking?”


His only reply was the turning of the brown-coated figures head, to stare wonderingly out into the menacing dark sky.


Jonesie tried again, “Eh, um, what’s ya name then?”


The brown-coated figure turned his head in the direction of Jonesie and blinked his fearful brown eyes in reply.


Silence followed, Jonesie thinking of what he could do for his silent guest. 


Jonesie flicked on the radio again, it crackled and hissed, and then resumed into some teenage trash. 

“Come on mate, you must be starving. Lets take ya home and give ya some tucker”, Jonesie said. 

The brown-coated figure did not move and his answer was only a deep sigh.


The rain had eased and as they drove, the road glistened like oil. Jonesie had finished his shift, so there were no problems. When they got inside his house, Jonesie helped the figure to dry himself, but he never took his coat off.  Jonesie thought this a bit odd but made no further inquiries.  He prepared a meal and the brown- coated figure warmed himself in front of the blazing fire.


Six months later, the brown-coated figure and Jonesie spend every night in the taxi, listening to the crackling radio and sharing long conversations with many pauses and deep sighs of reply.


The fearful brown eyes are fearful no more and the ragged, tatty coat has been replaced by a thick, warm one.


Jonesie and the brown-coated figure spend all their time together, after all, dogs are a mans best friend.

This activity was interesting and I found the video very funny and cute. This has helped me summarise different story more.

First activity of the day

They wake up and look around for food in the barren savannah.. They spot the fruit and decide how to get it down.

`Scene Three: 

A feared enemy

After looking at the fruit they look up and see a vulture peering down at them, eyeing up the fruit.

Scene Four:

Enemies revenge

The vulture grabs the fruit off the tree, and rudely flies away with the fruit.

Scene Five:

The Rescue

The meerkats decide to band together and chase after the vulture to get the fruit back, they hold onto the fruit and hold on like a big chain.

Scene Six:

Sport nirvana

The vulture flings them off and they are all falling down. The vulture flies away with the fruit and smashes into the cliffside, dropping the fruit.

Scene Seven:

The End

The meerkats grab the fruit and as a victory run with the fruit passing it among each other, then finally at the end a meerkat kicks the fruit over a tree that looks like a rugby post and smashes the fruit.

Firstly the meerkats get a fruit. Secondly a vulture steals it. Lastly the meerkats get it back and play rugby. 


Firstly, they wake up, look around the savannah spotting fruit, and decide how to get it down, secondly the meerkats look up and see a vulture, eyeing the fruit, lastly they band together, chase after the vulture, the vulture flies away with the fruit and smashes into the cliffside, dropping the fruit, the meerkats then play rugby with the fruit.

Bird Mascot: Dove

Why did I choose this bird?
I chose this bird because it represents my personality. It’s sociable, loyal and enthusiastic, not to mention that it hates conflict!

What is the Dove afraid of?
Doves are afraid of predators and larger animals.

Is your bird smart?
In other words, a bird is exactly as smart as it needs to be. Because these doves are so prolific (in some areas they nest year-round), they really have no reason to alter their behavior.

Has your bird been a symbol or an icon?
Symbols of love, peace or as messengers.

What is a group of Dove called?
A group of Doves is called a ‘Bevy’ but there are other names as well.

Summary
Firstly the dove is a very loyal and sociable bird, Secondly they are afraid of predators and other larger animals and Lastly they are a symbol of love and peace and they hate conflict.

My Stop Motion Animation Project

W.A.L.T- We are learning to make a stop animation that describes a message about the media.

For media studies our job was to portray a message about the media by creating a poster then turning it into a stop motion animation. My first message was `Always Plugged In?` and created that as a poster and animation with my partner Amelia, she was very helpful.

Here is the picture of my poster and my plan for my animation.



My next animation was about saving the tree's/`Stop Using Online Media` 

Here is the picture of the props and drawings I did to make the animation.


Over all I really enjoyed Media studies and doing the animation's and posters, though cutting out the props for the animation was hard as well as making the animation a smooth as possible.
