Buddy Writing!

On Tuesday for writing we went to our buddy class and shared our writing! And if we were finished we could write a story with our buddy. Me and my buddy wrote a story about going on a boat to Antarctica and being the only kid on the boat! I really enjoyed doing this activity and I hope to do it again! Be sure to leave feedback and check out the rest of my blog!

Here is my writing!

MY BIG TRIP TO ANTARCTICA
On Tuesday, I went on a big ship that was called The Humongous Ship that took me to Antarctica! The ship was 20 stories high and it had a whole deck that had two bunnies in it, and it had a big lollipop forest in it! It also had a pool table that was 200m long. It took us 4 weeks to get to Antarctica,. I felt excited and shy on the boat, I was the only kid on board. I saw lots of penguins and seals even big icebergs! As soon as I got off the boat I ran into the snow and made a heated igloo, I also made 20 snowmen because I was bored. I felt hot because I so many layers of jerseys and jackets. It was really windy!

My Mosaic Art

W.A.L.T- We are learning to do make a mosaic digital art for our calendar art.
I really enjoyed making doing this and I'm currently doing another one because I really like it. I chose to do one of my favorite animals a Giraffe. We did it on google drawings, got a picture off the internet then used poly line to make little shapes to trace over the picture and then delete the picture afterwards. I hope you like it and feel free to comment or check out the rest of my blog.

School Cluster Logo

W.A.L.T- create a logo to represent our school cluster using google drawing or a logo design site.
I really enjoyed making this logo and use my creative juices. I found it hard though to come up with the colors of the background because each color has a meaning, but that's in my explanation on why I did the logo. I hope you like it!

I did this because I feel it represents us moving or following the path of learning together because our cluster means 'the path to discover'. The koru is us growing up and following the journey of learning and knowledge. The stars represent Matariki, a new year and a fresh start for the way we learn now. The colours in the background, blue and purple, mean: confidence and knowledge.
(I drew the koru myself - I wanted it to fade in along with the background but I couldn't make it do this)

Be sure to check out the rest of my blog and leave feedback!

Teacher Recipe

W.A.L.T- We are learning to write instructions.
Last week we had to write a teacher recipe explaining how to make a teacher or an ideal teacher you'd want as yours. We had to include, instructions, title (what your making/goal) and the method. I really enjoyed using my imagination on this and I hope to do something like this again.
Feel free to comment on my blog to leave feedback!
Enjoy!

(Made by Google Docs)

My Ideal Teacher
Ingredients/equipment:
  • A sprinkle of powdered  kindness
  • A cup of understanding and trust
  • A bulb of the knowledge plant
  • 2 cups of human blood
  • 5 strands of human hair (Any colour)
  • All human organs (dead or alive)
  • Cauldron (Any size)
  • Human shaped mold
  • Dirt from the school grounds (as much as you want, the more dirt the more loyal the teacher is to that school)

Method:
  1. Fill the pot with the blood and organs and boil it until it’s boiling and thick.
  2. Put the strands of hair in the pot while stirring for 5 minutes.  (It should start glowing)
  3. After stirring the pot let it sit while you crush the bulb of the knowledge plant. After crushing it put it into the pot. (The mixture will turn green)
  4. Mix until it starts to feel like clay then make a well in the center (A hole in the center of the mixture) and put in the powdered kindness and a cup of understanding and trust.
  5. After doing that it will turn to liquid and then turn to stone, so quickly poor it into the human shaped mold and leave overnight.
  6. When its been at least 24 hrs burry the mold/mixture into the ground. (Note it has to be at least 4m or it wont work)
  7. Leave it in the ground for 3 days and on the third day your teacher will appear.  Quickly sprinkle the dirt from the school grounds over the teacher so it knows it belongs to that school.
